| 2008 ANCASTER COMMUNITY SERVICES GOLF TOURNAMENT RAISES RECORD AMOUNT FOR LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICES Ancaster News-July 2, 2008
Ancaster, Ontario (June 25, 2008): Ancaster Community Services today announced that its recent golf tournament raised almost $19,000 – a new record – in support of local social services programs. “This is a tremendous win for our community,” said Don Jaffray, ACS Chair. “Over the past seven years, Community Links has raised more than $92,000 for our ACS programs, which include Meals on Wheels; assisted volunteer driving; youth employment and family crisis counseling and referral. Community Links has proven, once again, to be a great way for the people of Ancaster to pull together in a positive and enjoyable way to help those in need in our town.” The ACS wishes to thank its major sponsors, including Meridian Credit Union; Horne LLP; Alexanian Carpet & Flooring; Coleford Investment Management; TD Waterhouse; S. Llewellyn & Associates, and Ancaster Toyota. Thanks also to the 128 golfers who participated; the 33 hole sponsors; Knollwood Golf Club and the countless volunteers who made the day possible. Plans are already underway for the 2009 Community Links tournament, which will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Knollwood Golf Club, Ancaster.
