ASSISTED VOLUNTEER DRIVING
This program is designed as a temporary solution for clients who are in the process of arranging more permanent transportation such as D.A.R.T.S. It relies on volunteers to drive seniors to important appointments and bring them home. There is a small fee which goes to support the program and offset the cost of gas and insurance on the volunteer’s car. Potential clients must register with the program coordinator, Melanie Barlow at 905-648-6675.
The client must be mobile (not in a wheelchair)...a collapsible walker is acceptable. The rides are from Ancaster to a destination in our area or in Hamilton. We need at least one to two weeks notice to arrange a ride.
Clients are invoiced each month via mail.
